They certainly have come a long way quickly. My son has just put a deposit on one. I'm not sure how long it is till delivery but i'll be around up the Gold Coast for a month so I might get to see one.

We have one here at work.

I'll see if I can borrow it for the Bribie Day.

I have a Phantom 3 Pro - planning on bringing it to Bribie - hopefully wont be to windy and I can get a bit of beach action. They are great by the way. 20 minutes + flight time is heaps long to to concentrate

Did you know that if you have a drone weighing over 2kg you need a permit from CASA to fly it?

Called a Remotely Piloted Aircraft Certificate!

CASA changed the rules at the end of September

"RPA used for sport or recreational purposes that weigh 150kg or less are considered to be operating privately and are regulated by the provisions for model aircraft."

I read it that 2-25kg you have to still be certified by CASA, 25 and over you have to be licensed to fly. That the under 2kg line of sight up to 150m are now 'toys'. I could be wrong, I don't use them but was considering using them for work purposes a while ago when I read it
