I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dave (DmaxDave) for his time and effort in moderating these forums since day one.
Dave has chosen to step down from moderating duties as the time it is taking doesn't work for his real world life at the moment. It did take a lot of his time and I fully understand his decision.
As I am sure you will all agree, Dave did a fantastic job in laying the foundations of steering a family friendly culture in these forums. I personally appreciate the time and effort that he put in. It was all for the love of the job. I am sure you know that the mods do not get any monetary rewards.
At times it is a thankless job. Dave copped a fair amount behind the scenes and I am sure all these things play a role in the decisions of time vs rewards.
Thanks again Dave, I am sure I speak for most in saying your efforts were well and truly appreciated.
Binary man and I will be moderating on our own for the time being so go easy on us guys!

Yes, it's a thankless job, with little to no reward, but I agree with DannyG, you steered the ship well mate.
Now go and have some DmaxDave time!

Thanks for all the reading material to help us get the most of our rigs Dave. End your time here knowing it was very much appreciated and still will be in years to come. (When we all learn to use the Search function a little better!)

Ditto from me too. I've not long been part of this forum but much of the valued information I have gleaned over the last couple of months in order to look after my new MU-x has been the information directly provided by Dave. Very much appreciated...Pete

Hey buddy, thanks ... sold the MU-X and bought a Fortuner, much better! :laughing7: ;)
Lots of catching up to do :crybaby2:

sold the MU-X and bought a Fortuner
Really?
Why?
-
Haha, kidding. ;D
Was overseas for a bit, and there's heaps of Fortuners there. Came back home to find heaps of them around here too, seems like they selling well.
-
Looks like DmaxDave has left completely :sad10: now listed as a guest .
he wont be seeing any of this

Phew! That could have got awkward

That's a shame. His advice and willingness to share was the main reason I joined this forum. I have noticed the lack of technical discussion on the forum lately and this explains it. Anybody know why he left?

It gets worse, a heap of his posts have disappeared.
-
I had noticed that too what a shame :crybaby2:

Anybody know why he left?
Initially Dave wanted to stop being a moderator due to personal time constraints, which is totally understandable.
He left on good terms and was happy to still be a part of the forum.
But just like you guys, I too noticed that he started to delete some of his posts and suddenly removed his account. So I am at a loss as to why. There were certainly no doors closed on my side and I was very appreciative of his efforts and made sure he knew he was a valued member etc so I feel as though something has happened that I am not aware of.
I haven't tried to approach him outside of here as I dont want to make him uncomfortable or have him feel like he needs to explain himself or anything to me.
I genuinely appreciated his help and I feel as though his knowledge is missed but Im not a person to worry too much about things I cant control.
I guess Dave had his reasons and I respect that. He is always welcome back if or when he wants.
