Danny, Looking at all the tracert's from users and looking at my own, I suspect it may actually be hosted in Singapore instead of in the US, which I imagine for the most part would be remarkably better due to their geographical location with us.
Looking at the hops, us in the eastern states seem to be hopping over to Perth and out one of the cables their to Singapore instead of out of the Sydney based cables to the US.
I connected to my works VPN in the US, and from their the tracert jumped around the US a bit before going out to Singapore as well.

Tried again with another called mtr, tested icmp, tcp and udp and the losses are substantial once they hop to 148.72.204.7.
If I lock the packet size to for example to 1300 and 1500, the losses are the same...
