Yeah...Right...
« on: Dec 19, 2019, 12:43:56 PM »
I seem to draw the weird ones.

I got pulled over last night at the top of my street.
The cop asked me to get out and have a chat, I thought,   O....K.....

He asked me if I had been driving around and chucking wheel spins in the neighbourhood on Thursday and Friday last week.
He said he had a description of my car, but no numberplate.

Ilooked at him, then looked at my MUX.
I turned back to him and said.
1) My mux isnt 12 months old yet and there is no way Im gonna wreck it chucking wheel spins.
2) Tyres for this thing are expensive, and I cannot afford to wear them out prematurely.
3) Its a MUX, I dont even know if it is possible to chuck a wheel spin in a Diesel MUX, its zero to 60 is measures by calendar.
and finally
4) I was in wollongong last week staying down there for work, I have the reciepts as I use them to claim my stays back.

He then looked at his piece of paper.
Then at my car
MUX he says, not an Everest?

Sometimes I worry about incidents like this.
Sometimes I laugh
Sometimes I simply feel like crying

I get back in my car wondering, until I got half way down the street, then I burst out laughing.

I guess its Xmas, so weird stuff will happen.

Don't want to know

In all my years of driving 45 years, I have only once deliberately "chucked a wheel spin" on the road.
I'm not made of money, tyres, gearboxes and engines cost too much.
Besides, whats the point?

I drove a rally car for a few years an old Renault 10.
Yes the wheels spun in the dirt, and traction was preferred, but that was rallying.

The only time I have actually spun wheels accidentally, was in wet weather, when there was oil on the road or when i tried to take off too fast on my 1.5 litre 6 cylinder motorcycle.
And at $600.00 plus a tyre, I can tell you that wasn't too often.

If the MUX can do it, I doubt Ill ever find out.

Oh, I just remembered.
I have had a few wheel spins on boat ramps, again, not deliberately.

Smart and Ford are not words that generally go together.

I have had 3 Ford's, all company cars.
Never been overly impressed
Had a few Holden as well,
Again, not greatly impressed

My Hondas and Toyota's were always better
But I am quite pleased with my MUX.

As for cops, really depends
There are some good and then there are the cockroaches.

I think this issue was simply a matter of him not knowing cars.
