Camper/Trailer/Caravan... What does your ISUZU TOW?
« on: Jun 11, 2015, 10:40:50 PM »
I've been curious about what you all tow... If at all!!

I have a custom made camper trailer with an austrack tent. I am currently in the process of putting photos in a build thread on MySwag. (Need membership to see the pics) This thread started back in 2013, and am now just catching up!

Grantm, that MUX looks right at home on the sand towing the camper trailer! Good stuff!

Definitively need more clearance but - 2" lift & tyres is next on the list for the MUX

We tow an MDC Extreme Trooper, no mods, but I'd like to add some power and outlets for the fridge and lights etc.

Looks good there knoath.
We have a GIC Ranger which we haven't used yet. Been tidying it up a little and have just ordered some electrical stuff to put in it so I can run another Deep cycle AGM to power a fridge freezer and lighting etc

i tow a pinnacle off road camper trailer ...... no pics as yet with it on new Dmax.

Just had to flip the tow hitch around so i could get the jockey wheel up/down when on Dmax......a suspension lift will sort this minor issue out though.

Dmax tows it brilliantly - you know the trailers there but with heaps of grunt it tows it with ease.

Well you learn something new everyday......I heard they had banned campers from crossing the simpson due to so many lying rusting out due to mechanical breakdowns / failures.

Urban myth mate  ;)

Never saw a single broken trailer out there.  Saw several other trailers doing the crossing though.

The SA National Parks people don't "recommend" trailers cross the Simpson and I would guess that is purely because of people's inexperience but that was an issue we saw many times from just vehicle drivers.

I'm not clever enough to build my own. But I am pretty happy with the CT we bought though, tows well and ticks the most of the functionality boxes for our purposes, for now anyway.
