What portable 12v air compressors do members have or recommendations for a MU-X owner considering a purchase?

I have had one of the $99 Aldi specials for about 2 years and can't fault it.  Lots of very similar on the market for a lot more dollars.

Hi Jonesaj,
I have the ARB CKMA12 mounted in the engine bay, 2 year warrantee.
Only went this way because I went with ARB's lockers. Use to have a similar ARB one on my old 60 series, never had an issue with them.
What ever brand you go with I would recommend one with as long a warrantee as you can find. One that if you have an issue with it you can take it back  and get some help.
Good luck, I hate buying stuff like this nowadays, there are just to many bloody options available. I just went through this crap with what driving lights to buy.
Cheers

http://www.4wdsupacentre.com.au/products/air-compressors.html

I run the thumper in my GU Patrol. all hard wired and mounted, Bargain at $119, also have a 9L air thank plumbed up with nitto fittings, can run air tools with it.

Can pump 4x 235/85/R16 tyres from 18-40psi in just over 4 minuets

As for the MUX my Old TJM 72L/M compressor from the patrol, not hard wired just sits in a bag, its not going to get used much just in case of emergency.
TJM compressor was good but due to old age struggled to get over 45Psi any more Needed to run those pressures with thy type of tyres I have in the patrol as for the MUX  its fine as don't need more than 32psi in them, so still preforms well.

Any chance of some info / pics on where and how you mounted the compressor in the engine bay. I'm planning to do the same, but still have to figure out where/how to mount the compressor in the engine bay.

Thanks ..............

John

Thanks Guys

I was looking at the Thumper myself as these seem good value.

No Aldi in Mackay yet DMaxDave.

Not wanting to spend big $ as usage would be minimal, but like insurance, you never know when you may need it so that's why I will get one.

Cheers

Hey Danny or Dave, just noticed there is no driving light thread. Any chance you could start one and take these last 3 posts over there. I was going to start one but didn't know if it was an external accessory or electrical. Thanks

ABR Sidewinder twin air compressor.

Great compressor that i have had for approx 5 years with absolutely no dramas......fast inflation and great duty cycle - i can easily inflate 4 cruiser tyres and my camper trailer tyres.
