Hey whitey001, that looks like a very quick set up, very nice!
What's the camping like at Lake Hume? I've driven through Albury so many times, always thought "I'll have a look there one day..."

Thanks mate.  Yeah, will be quite quick when we get it sorted out.  Even this first time with taking our time and stuffing around it was still faster than our old soft floor.  McHitch autocoupler is awesome.  Just need to put airbags in the back of MU-X to support the weight a bit better.

This was our first time at Lake Hume.  It was part of the camper deal so we mainly played around with the camper rather than wandering around the park.  Given most of our camping to date has been at Big4's etc, this had more of a bush camping feel without being in the middle of the bush.  And the view...........!!!!!

Al.

Heres our camper. I built it myself a few years ago and it has slowly evolved to a point where we are really happy with all aspects of it.

There is a build thread on here.........http://www.ozisuzu.com.au/index.php/topic,1489.msg12516.html#msg12516

It has a slide out kitchen that also holds our fridge, a couple of deep cycle batteries, diesel heater, hot and cold water, external shower thingy, gas etc all the mod cons made to easily set up and pack up camp.

And a couple of pics.......

Nice job Danny. I too like you built my own camper. Greta satisfaction once completed. I have traveled about 50,000 kms in mine so far including your home state of Tasmania. Have included a few pics.

Nice job Wal do you have a build thread somewhere?

I do that for a living dogsbreakfast! Building cardboard boxes not campers.

I think I will stick to what I know best. Cardboard boxes sounds too hard... :laughing7

Thanks Danny and no I don't have a build thread anywhere. I started taking notes and pics but all got too hard when my deadline date to finish came around faster than I wished. Lots of late nights I know. The fact that I built two at the same time didn't help.

Just... brilliant! :icon_thumleft:

What do you use for a kitchen, mate?

Sorry mate, we just have a couple of metal tables and a square bucket to wash up and a couple of portable stoves, and of course we take the Webber.
It has two awnings an awning room for one to sleep in and a large tarp in case of bad weather. Need to put a water tank underneath then will be ready for a desert trip or what ever. Still have the van for the big trips thought. Just worked it out and would owe us about $4k.

Too easy Isuzumu, well thought out!
Gee those home made campers are flash!
Well the mods continue on our MDC trailer! After this Xmas trip the Missus and I were talking about this latest set up and she wasn't too happy about living out of the tubs we carry our plates etc. in... soooo, I will now be building a slide out drawer to house an organised pantry for plates and utensils, pots and pans, cooking spray and condiments etc.
It never ends... but as they say, Happy Wife...

Yeh having an easy to use and easy to set up kitchen is a big part of it IMHO.

They are easy enough to make using bearings to slide on.

I made the drawer in the tub, so I shouldn't have any dramas... You're right Danny, simple set ups work best!
