Where to for diesel engines

(1/1)

MGMUX:
Hi guys,

I was talking to a friend recently who is very heavily involved in the Diesel engine industry Australia and internationally. He was saying that a lot of the country's now are restricting their emissions policy's as a way of pressuring the car industry to come up with new technology for the common market that are more environmentally friendly.

He also mentioned Toyota and that this new Diesel engine they are using in the Prado and others will probably be their last Diesel engine. He expects that in approximately ten years the cars will be released as eighteen hybrids or full electric.

All of this is entirely possible now, however the big Achilles heel in the technology is the battery storage, but this is catching up quickly apparently.

It was very interesting hearing his point of view given his expertise in the market.

Cheers.

But then again and on a sad note, the powers of the oil giants and oil producing  countries will try their best to be against this 'modernisation'.  They will find a way to lobby all government agencies that petrol and oil is still the norm...
